Here we have a returning favourite, one of the gems we were lucky enough to buy in the early days of Flat Six Classics. An Arctic Silver 986 Boxster 3.2 Tiptronic S bought by its second owner (a Mr Alan Bennett – no, not that one) in 2011 at 28,000 miles, he added a few more each year to take it to 42,500 miles by the time we bought it in 2019. Then in stunning original condition and with a perfect service record and MOT history, we sold it within 24 hours to a couple who wanted a car to take out to their holiday home in France each summer.

A couple of weeks ago they decided to sell the car and offered it back to us – I genuinely couldn’t get there fast enough! Still in amazing condition and having been looked after by Cameron Porsche near Bath for the last 3 years, Y583VOP is a lovely thing in all respects. Ordered from Carrs Porsche in Exeter, it had a few nice options fitted – hardtop, extended leather to door panels and dashboard, Metropole Blue leather seats with Porsche crests embossed to headrests, Litronic xenon headlights and automatic air conditioning.

The first owner kept his car for 10 years, having it serviced throughout that time by the supplying dealer Porsche Centre Exeter, before trading it in at a VW dealership for the dealer principal’s Cayman S in 2011. Mr Alan Bennett (still not that one) purchased it directly from the VW dealership (it was good enough even at 10 years old to be sold with a full main dealer warranty).

There are 16 service stamps in the maintenance record (10 from Porsche, 6 from recognised Porsche specialists) and we will prepare the car for sale with a Major service with spark plugs. As mentioned, the MOT history is (almost) impeccable, with just one blemish in 2020 when it was failed for an incorrect headlight aim. Not a single advisory in 17 MOT tests.
