We count ourselves lucky to see some fantastic Boxsters and Caymans here at Flat Six Classics, then every now and again something really special turns up. CN54DZO is one of those – a very low mileage, (almost) one owner car with a perfect service record, one of the last 986 Boxsters registered in September 2004, and with a mouthwatering specification.

CN54DZO was delivered to its first owner, a Mr Williams of Cardiff, on 24th September 2004, yet within a year he had sold the car to its long term owner, a dentist from Cowbridge near Cardiff, who cherished his Boxster for the next 17 years, having it maintained by Porsche Centre Cardiff right up to 2019, with the last service being carried out by Welsh Porsche, a well known specialist also in Cardiff. In total, there are 11 service stamps from Porsche Centre Cardiff, plus the aforementioned specialist in 2020. The odometer currently stands at 31,786 miles.

The list of options fitted to this very late 986 Boxster S includes: 18″ Sport Design BBS split-rim wheels, Litronic xenon headlamps with washer system, hardback sports seats with Porsche crests (drivers seat lowered – option code XSU), BOSE sound system, extended leather to dashboard and door cards, rear parking sensors and automatic air conditioning. Originally fitted with the PCM2 radio/CD/sat nav system, this has been replaced recently with a bang up-to-date Pioneer AVIC DAB radio/CD/sat nav system with Bluetooth connectivity.

There is a big file of invoices accompanying the car, which detail all additional works carried out during the car’s lifetime – wheel refurbishment, AC condensers, coil packs, steering lock control unit, alternator and battery.

On the road, CN54DZO is a delight to drive, feeling taut and fresh as only a super-low mileage car that has been fastidiously maintained can. Our only criticism of the car when it came into stock was that the tyres felt a little hard, no surprise really as the Michelins fitted were date stamped 2007! These have been replaced with a new set of Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, and our only other job is to carry out a brake fluid change.
