A spectacular 986 Boxster 2.7 in very rare L2A1 Rainforest Green with contrasting Savannah extended leather interior, Y944GWS has covered 68,420 miles in the hands of 4 previous keepers, and remains in amazing original condition. The paintwork and interior are as good as any we have seen, and this is matched by the mechanical condition too. The car has a lovely set of factory options – extended leather with embossed Porsche crests to the headrests, PSM Porsche Stability Management, Litronic xenon headlights, leather Sport steering wheel, model designation delete to the bootlid, a factory supplied hardtop with garage stand, and a set of incredibly rare genuine “Speedster humps” (option code XAB – Spyder rear).
The service history is excellent, with 16 stamps in the maintenance record, along with a number of Porsche specialist invoices for additional work including water pump, suspension refresh, exhaust fittings, AC condensers etc. The MOT history is ridiculously clean for a 21 year old car, with just a couple of advisories (one for “undertrays fitted”, which is hardly a fault!), and two failures, in 2012 for emissions (a new Air mass sensor was required) and in 2007 for a worn rear tyre. We are replacing the AC condensers as one of them is leaking slightly.
“Immaculate” is a word employed far too often when advertising older cars, because of course anything that has been used can no longer be immaculate in the true sense of the word – but Y944GWS is as close to this as any that we have seen in over 4 years (including some very low mileage single owner cars). There are a couple of tiny blemishes, but as a whole the car looks, feels and drives beautifully.
